The Leica DMi8 with TCS SP8 Laser Scanning Confocal System combines a fully motorized inverted research microscope with Leica's modular spectral confocal imaging platform for advanced fluorescence, live-cell, optical sectioning, and multidimensional microscopy. The DMi8 provides motorized control of focus, nosepiece, condenser, and fluorescence turret, while the TCS SP8 adds high-resolution confocal imaging, spectral detection, Z-stack acquisition, 3D imaging, and configurable multichannel fluorescence workflows.

The optional DLS Light Sheet module adds a high-speed, high-resolution imaging mode for visualizing fast-changing biological processes with drastically reduced phototoxicity.
