Yokogawa CSU10B Spinning Disk Confocal Scanner Unit | CSU10B-F300-E-B488
The Yokogawa CSU10B (CSU10B-F300-E-B488) is a spinning disk confocal scanner unit for real-time optical sectioning and live-cell fluorescence imaging. Its dual Nipkow disk design pairs a disk of about 20,000 microlenses with a matching pinhole disk, rotating together at 1,800 rpm to raster-scan the specimen with many laser beams at once. With 12 frames captured per rotation, the CSU10B delivers confocal imaging at up to 360 frames per second, with significantly lower photobleaching and phototoxicity than single-point laser scanning confocals. The microlens array improves optical efficiency by roughly two orders of magnitude over a conventional Nipkow disk, enabling clear confocal images even of dim fluorescent specimens.
